First Family Vacation

Brian has become really good friends with Lucas, the single guy across the hall in our apartment building. They hang out a couple times a week doing everything from playing cards to learning to drive stick shift to watching baseball games. It's pretty cute. Last Saturday, I left Viv with Brian so that I could shoot a photo session. Lucas' family was in town from Missouri so Brian and Viv went across the hall to say hi. They fell in love with V! I mean, who can blame them? They said that the next day they were leaving for the North Shore of Lake Superior to stay in a cabin for their family vacation. They asked if we wanted to join them because the cabin had a bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom in the basement that they weren't using. We were so excited! First family vacation!

This trip was exactly what we needed. It was a perfect time to get away as a family, have loads of laughs, and enjoy God's creation! It was Vivienne's first time sleeping away from home. She was great! She did get a little spoiled with napping in everyone's arms instead of her travel tent/bed, but she slept great at night. She did great on the drive up. We woke her up at 6 am, fed her, changed her and put her in her car seat with her paci and Owly and she slept 4 out of the 5 hour road trip. The only fussed for a minute when I climbed in the back to feed her a bottle while we drove. What a champ!

Lucas' family was so gracious, giving and beyond hospitable! They treated us like part of the family. We were so relaxed and refreshed after only an hour of being there! We played mini golf, went to dinner in Grand Marais, play MANY board games and watched a couple movies. And I think everyone enjoying our little snuggle bug.

We couldn't be more thankful for Lucas' family and how they adopted us for a few days. It was such a blessing!

We took a bunch of videos on the trip too that Brian is editing. I'm sure that as well will be posted soon!

We went hiking in the State Park. Papi carried Vivienne in the Baby Bjorn. She missed the whole thing by sleeping! There were 200 steps on the stairs down to the falls. I think I'm STILL sore from the climb up and down!
Brian and Lucas (and Viv) on the hike.
Only family photo we have from the trip! Gotta bring a tripod next time!
Family date in Grand Marais. We walked around town and got coffee at this cute walk up window right on the shore!
She's giving us the best smiles lately!

 The Litzinger Family!
Vivienne's little photo shoot. She loves to blow bubbles lately!
We woke her from her nap for a mini shoot. Poor baby of a photographer haha.
And this is when she officially was DONE taking photos with us!
