Two little deers

Lord willing, baby Edith will be born this week! Normally, there are 24 hours in a day and 7 days a week. But when you are 39 weeks pregnant I think there are 2,400 hours a day and 700 days a week! We are trying anything to make the time go quickly. Today, that meant a picnic and photo shoot at the park just for fun. I realized halfway through that this is the last time I will do a photo shoot of just the two girls! Soon there will be three sisters! Can't wait!

Viv got the opportunity to try out a fun custom clothes website called The Patchery. It was so fun to pick the style, the fabrics and all the design! She actually did most of it herself and she chose a deer print dress because she loved seeing deer in Grammie's backyard. She calls it her Snow Lantern dress because that's what she named Grammie's deer haha. Today, Vivi got her dress in the mail, put it on right away, and I don't see it coming off in the foreseeable future haha. She says its the "softest, warmest, prettiest dress in the whole wide world" haha. Lulu was crushed that she didn't get one too haha. Glad I have two more girls to pass this cute dress down to! The whole custom design process is seriously fun and would make an awesome interactive Christmas gift!

I made the girls these deer headbands for fun while Papa was deer hunting a few weekends ago. They are obsessed! I have had a few people ask about purchasing their own floral deer headbands. I will be making a few more as Christmas gifts, so if you are interested in purchasing one for your sweetie, contact me at mindyr.johnson@gmail.com.

Halloween

This year the girls got to dress up in two different costumes. The day before Halloween they went to a Halloween Carnival and were Anna and Elsa. Then, on actual Halloween, they went trick or treating as little Jedi's. We love our little girls!

Family Photos

Auntie Stacey came over tonight for dinner. But first we stopped by the lake at the end of our block for some family photos. This October has been unseasonably warm resulting in the most amazingly long season of bright orange and red and yellow trees! Glad we finally got to take advantage of the beauty and get out for a super quick 15 minute session to take some photos. Even if I feel more like a pregnant whale these days. There is a reason I tell my clients to take their maternity photos before 35 weeks haha. I am just shy of 36 weeks and I am feeling done. Stretched to the limit. Sore everywhere. I spend my nights getting up to pee more than actually sleeping. I have contractions every 10 mins like I did with Vivi and Lulu. The doc calls it an "irritable uterus" meaning they do nothing for labor but are super uncomfortable to the point of being almost painful. BUT.... in less than a month we will have another sweet little girl! And it makes all of the last bits of pregnancy beyond worth it! Soon Edith Clementine will be here! I may not LOVE the way I look or feel when this pregnant, but I think it's important for me to get in front of the camera and be a "client" every once in a while. Plus, I'll only be pregnant a few times in my life. It's an amazing miracle that the Lord will knit a tiny human together in my womb. I don't take it for granted. I cherish every kick and hiccup of each of my sweet girls and I want to remember it all. We are so blessed!

Raking Leaves

Papa took the girls to the backyard to rake leaves. Of course it turned into a leaf fight/bury the girls party. And they LOVED it! Silly, girly, giggles floated on the breeze and made us all smile. And we celebrated the end of a lovely Autumn day with snuggles and a bonfire.

Autumn Adventure

When Grammie was here last week, we had a little adventure at Minnehaha Falls. We went for a walk among the last of the summer flowers and the first of the Autumn colored leaves. The air was crisp and cool and the girls demanded they wear scarves to match Grammie and me haha. They chased squirrels, climbed rocks, and played pee-a-boo with burgundy leaves. A lovely Autumn adventure!

Oak Glen, Ca

Just as the sun was starting to set, Grammie and I decided to quick take the girls up the mountain to Oak Glen to see the animals and walk around a bit. Lucielle absolutely LOVED seeing the deer. She kept laughing and pointing and sticking her fingers in the fence to try to touch the deer. Vivienne enjoyed the "reindeer" from a safe distance and would freak out and scream "No Lulu!" every time Lu would put her fingers inside haha. It was so funny that Grammie and I got the giggles and started laughing hilariously. Which made Vivi laugh so hard she fell to the ground in giggles haha. So funny!

Grammie and Grampa

I love my parents. It was so awesome to have them come visit this Autumn! We enjoyed a day at our favorite park, Silverwood Park, for a nice walk, warm coffee, and some cute pics of my parents for their 35th Wedding Anniversary. I love them!
