Big Bear
After a few days in sunny California we got sick of palm trees and the lack of snow so we headed up the mountains to Big Bear, Ca. Okay, so we didn't really get sick of sun and palm trees... that's not even possible! Mountains are a bit of a novelty to us Minnesotans, even if snow isn't. The drive was beautiful and the air was crisp. We went to one of our favorite Starbucks overlooking the ski slopes and then walked around the town. We took a million family photos in front of the town Christmas tree. Our family has grown and changed so much since last year! And Vivi is quite the little ham! What a silly goose!
That day, Vivienne got hives (!) for the first time. All over her cheeks and hands. So weird! We still don't know what caused it, but after about a week, the flare-ups finally went away. Viv also got car sick on the way down the mountain and Brian took her for some fresh air, at sunset, overlooking the valley. He's such a good Papa! Unfortunately, by the end of the night, Brian also got sick, but his lasted for nearly a week! Poor guy! No fun to be sick on vacation especially at Christmas time!
