Christmas Day

Vivienne woke up on Christmas morning to a stash on gifts under the tree, and she doesn't even believe in Santa! Brian and I have talked a lot about how we want Vivi to know the real reason that we celebrate Christmas. It's easy to get caught up in the commercialism of this holiday. As an adult, I think that I have a better ability to filter through the materialism and enjoy the season, but Vivienne is just a baby. So we are beginning the habit of trying to help her remember that Christmas is about the Lord sending his son Jesus to born a baby so that one day that sinless man would die on the cross for our sins. She will know that Santa exists and that he is fun to pretend about, but that he's not real and certainly not why we celebrate Christmas.

So the first thing we did on Christmas morning was read the Christmas Story from Vivienne's children's Bible. So cute! Then we had an awesome brunch with family. Then came some fun gifts. Grammie and Papa got Vivienne an adorable rocking moose and stacking rings! She loved them right away! She even tried to rock it herself. We got Vivienne a cup (her favorite toy haha), a straw sippycup, and some wooden cookies and donuts.

Then we went to my Brother and Sister-in-law's house for more Christmas celebrating. We ate, laughed, played games and chatted. A nice and relaxing holiday.
