Willow River State Park

After our big trip to California, Grammie flew back with us! Flying home was so awesome because, not only did we get the whole row to ourselves, but Grammie was across the aisle... AND she got her own row too! So spacious! It was great to pass the girls back and forth and have a one-on-one ratio.

One thing we were really looking forward to once getting home to Minnesota was going for a hike. We heard that Willow River State Park had paved trails and decided to take a day trip. These photos make the day look so fun! In reality, we had two tired, cranky, hot and hungry kids. One skipped a nap. The other wasn't used to "hiking" so long. And Grammie and Mommy were beyond tired from pushing a million bazillion pound double stroller down and then up the longest and steepest hill ever! Mom and I joked that it was a rough day and was not enjoyable during, but that we would look back and say, "That was such a fun day!" And it's true! I am fondly looking through these photos with rose colored glasses and fun memories haha.
Along the paved trail were these posts when kids could make a crayon rubbing of different animals and their footprints. Viv really enjoyed it.
 Our little hiker.
