38 weeks
Well, last week our Baby Doc said that she predicted that Baby Bird will be born within the week. If we don't have baby by tomorrow afternoon, she will be wrong! While it's disappointing that we still haven't met our little kiddo, I am really relieved that he/she was patient enough to hang out in the womb long enough for my mom to get here! She flew in last night and stayed at our place. We had some mommy/daughter time this morning. We got a pedicure! It was such an amazing feeling to have my feet being love on and scrubbed and painted all cute. We grabbed some coffee at Starbucks and spent lots of time feeling Baby Bird squirm. Then my sister-in-law and nephew came over to pick up my mom and we chatted for a while. So fun! Mom is staying with my brother's family until Baby Bird decides to come.
We had a little date night the other night: Dinner and a Movie. It was a little splurge because we figure it will be a while before we can take a long date night without baby. We went to Chipotle (yum! and spicy!). Brian asked the manager if they would do anything special for us since we were trying to induce labor with a spicy burrito and she said that since she loves babies she'd give us a free burrito! So funny! She also said that the last pregnant woman she gave a burrito to went into labor within 2 days! That means with her prediction I'd have to go into labor tonight! Then we went to see "Hunger Games". It was really good and a super fun chill date night.
We also got to see our friend's new baby, Issac, this week. It was amazing to hold him and picture our little baby looking just as "human" and "newborn-y" inside my tummy! Wow! Baby Bird kicked the whole time I help him. They're such good friends already!
As for baby prep, I think that we are all ready! The apartment is cleaned, organized and completely rearranged. Baby Bird's room is only in need for some picture frames to be hung and books to be put away. I have a few more sewing projects to make and some meals to make and freeze, but other than that we are ready to go! The bags are packed and in the car. We've been walking every night, eating spicy foods, chowing on pineapple. Brian has also made me sit on a towel at all times just in case my water breaks haha. Come on Baby Bird! We are ready to meet you!
(L) Our Baby book arrived in the mail. (R) Baby's cradle is set up and ready for a sleeping babe in our room!
(L) Me and Grandma! (R) Like mother, like daughter, my Mom came with some DIY sewn bibs for baby. So cute!
(L) Starbucks date with Mommy. (R) Pedicures! My feet are still swollen, but at least they look a little cuter with painted nails.
