Baby Bird will be named...

As I mentioned before, Brian and I had a boys name already picked out from our first pregnancy. We still love that name and will use it this time if Baby Bird is a boy. But the girls name was way harder to agree on this time. The name I really liked, Brian wasn't too sure about. The name he really liked I wasn't sold on either. Then one day, we were in the car driving to a wedding about an hour away when we decided to come to a decision on a girls name. Apparently we like to make these decisions while driving haha. We actually ended up combining both of our favorite names. Just like with Vivienne, we wanted names that have a meaning that will be our prayer for our child.

If Baby Bird is a girl, she will be named Lucielle Juniper:

We love this name for so many reasons. The name Lucielle means "light". We pray that Lucielle would come to know the Light and that she would be a light for others. While we both love this name, it was my particular favorite. Brian's favorite is Juniper. We chose this name based on Isaiah 41:19-20, which says:

"I will put in the desert
    the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
I will set junipers in the wasteland,
    the fir and the cypress together,
so that people may see and know,
    may consider and understand,
that the hand of the Lord has done this,
    that the Holy One of Israel has created it."

A Juniper tree needs lots and lots of water. So, for it to be flourishing in the desert, it would be obvious that the Lord had done it. Since we weren't exactly planning on another child yet, we see Lucielle Juniper as something that the Lord has obviously done and created. Lucielle Juniper Johnson: Light; the Lord has done it.

If Baby Bird is a boy, we decided again on Crosby Giuseppe:

 Crosby means "dwelling near the cross". Our prayer is that Crosby would cherish the Lord and love the fact that Jesus came to die on the cross in order to eternally save sinners such as him. We chose Giuseppe as a middle name in memory of Brian's brother Joey who passed away a few years ago. Giuseppe is Italian for Joseph and means "the Lord increases". Again, we believe that the Lord is increasing our family according to His plan, not ours. And we couldn't be happier!

We can't wait until early August to find out it Crosby or Lucielle has been living in my tummy! Yay!
