Carmel by the Sea

Before the long drive back from Northern Ca, Mommy and I decided that, since we'd have to stop so many times for the babies, we might as well take a long(ish) route home that included some beautiful stops. It was a really good decision! We stopped in Carmel, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. And a bunch of smaller gas/potty stops. My favorite stop was the first one: Carmel by the Sea! It's GORGEOUS! The morning fog was just starting to dissipate when we arrived. We took a peek at the ocean. Played a bit in the sand and explored the driftwood. Then we walked through the town a bit, enjoyed a yummy pastry for breakfast, and grabbed coffee as we meandered in an out of shops. Everything was so expensive and not toddler friendly, but it was fun nevertheless. This was also Lulu's first time out on the beach! She wasn't too sure about the sand, but someday, she and Viv will enjoy playing and splashing in the water. This just wasn't that trip.
