Lucielle Juniper - Newborn session

Newborn photo sessions are easily one of my favorites to photograph. I think it's because it takes so much work to feed, change diapers, rock to sleep, pose, clean up pee/poop. But when the stars align and you get a sleeping baby to "pose" just right, it's magic! Our little Lulu was tailor made to be a photographers baby! Vivienne was wide awake and alert almost every time we tried to take photos. Not Lucielle. She has been posing in her sleep with her hands tucked so sweetly under her chin constantly since she was born. She practically begs to be photographed!

One bummer of a c-section is that it's major surgery (duh!) that requires a lot of recovery time (another duh!). That means that it's more difficult for me to play the roll of soothing milk-machine mommy AND a newborn photographer. Lucky for us, we have Aunt Stacey! The tea cup and naked baby pics are one's that she took while Grammie and I posed her. Yay! The rest are one's that I took but would have made my OB roll her eyes if she saw me laying on the floor and wincing in pain just to get the perfect shot. And I don't even regret it! Lulu is our lovely baby model!

 I wonder if she will like "Foxie" as much as Vivienne LOVES "Roxie"?
